MG Motor India has finally revealed the pricing of the highly-anticipated Astor. The range starts from Rs 9.78 lakh whereas the top-end Sharp turbo variant is priced at Rs 16.78 lakh, all prices mentioned are introductory ex-showroom.

2021 MG Astor Launched

MG Motor India has launched the Astor four variants – Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. The Style variant is the base trim that is only available with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, that too with a 5-speed MT only. The CVT variants start from Rs 12.68 lakh and go to Rs 14.98 lakh. The turbo range of the Astor starts from Rs 15.88 lakh and goes to Rs 16.78 lakh. Pitting the Astor against the competition, the Astor undercuts its Korean rivals from the base variants itself. Talking about the top variants, the Astor Turbo undercuts the Creta Turbo DCT by well up to Rs 1 lakh.

2021 MG Astor Launched – Engine Options and Bookings

MG Motor India will start accepting bookings for the Astor from October 21st. The deliveries for the Astor will kick start from November 2021 and MG aims to deliver close to 5,000 Astor crossovers before the end of 2021 amid the shortage of chips and semiconductors. Talking about the engine options, the Astor comes powered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 110Hp and 144 Nm and 1.3-litre turbo petrol with 140Hp and 220 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre engine can be had with a 5-speed manual and 8-step CVT whereas the 1.3-litre engine comes exclusively with a 6-speed AT. 

The ADAS Level 2 tech of the Astor will be offered as an optional package with the top trims only. The 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment will be standard across the range and so is the variable steering response modes. Safety features like ESP, hill hold control and traction control are offered as standard along with airbags and ABS. Top-end variants include six airbags, a 360-degree parking camera and a lot more. MG Motor India will revise the prices of the Astor for the year 2022. MG Astor will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and Nissan Kicks.
