2021 MG Astor Variants Explained

MG Motor India has finally taken the wraps off the variant and price details of the Astor. MG has used the common nomenclature we have seen with the Hector range as well. MG Astor is offered in Style, Super, Smart and Sharp variants. The top two variants are also offered with the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine whereas the 1.5-litre motor is standard across the range. MG Astor Variants Explained – Style

The Style is the base variant in the Astor lineup but comes packed with many interesting features. Talking about the safety features first, the Style variant comes with standard safety features like dual airbags, traction control, electronic stability program, hill descent control, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors and more. Talking about the features, it offers 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, three steering response modes, LED headlights with DRLs, automatic climate control with PM 2.5 filter, remote keyless entry and more. The base Style variant is only available with the 1.5L MT powertrain option.

2021 MG Astor Variants Explained – Super

The Super variant is the second base variant of the Astor and it can also be had with the 8-step CVT option. Talking about the features it gets over the Style variant, we are offered R17 alloy wheels, reverse parking camera, LED taillights, roof rails, front fog lights with cornering function, electric parking brake, steering mounted controls, and more. The Super variant is offered in two powertrain options – 1.5L MT at Rs 11.28 lakh and 1.5L CVT at Rs 12.68 lakh ex-showroom.

2021 MG Astor Variants Explained – Smart

The Smart variant of the Astor sits below the top-end Sharp and offers both 1.5L and 1.3L engine options. Talking about its key features over the Super variant, we get the personal Ai assistant, digital car key functionality, heated ORVM, iSmart connected tech with 80+ features, 7.0-inch fully digital instrument cluster, start/stop button with keyless entry, side airbags, Tuxedo black upholstery with leather seats, cruise control, automatic headlights, electric ORVMs and more. Talking about the pricing, the Smart variant is offered with three powertrain options – 1.5L MT at Rs 12.98 lakh, 1.5L CVT at Rs 14.18 lakh and 1.3L AT at Rs 15.88 lakh ex-showroom.

2021 MG Astor Variants Explained – Sharp

The Sharp variant of the Astor comes with all the bells and whistles including the optional ADAS Level-2 tech. Talking about its features, we get a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, rear collision warning, red brake callipers, turbine-inspired alloys and Brit Dynamic badging (with 1.3L turbo only), curtain airbags, 360-degree parking cameras, power-adjustable driver’s seat, rain-sensing wipers, lane change assist, blind-spot detection and a lot more. The Sharp variant is also available with all three powertrain options – 1.5 MT at Rs 13.98 lakh, 1.5 CVT at Rs 14.98 lakh and 1.3 AT at Rs 16.78 lakh.

So here were all the variants of the new MG Astor. MG has priced the new Astor very competitively and it undercuts all its rivals by a fair margin. It is worth mentioning that the prices will last till the first 5,000 customers post which, the prices will be revised.
