2021 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift - Exterior Changes

Skoda India showcased the Kodiaq petrol at the 2020 Auto Expo. However, there have been some changes in the plans. As Skoda announced the mid-life cycle facelift of the Kodiaq, it doesn’t get many sheet metal changes and the silhouette remains the same as before. Staring with precision reveals the sleeker LED headlights with a tweaked DRL design. Also, the grille has become larger and gets the signature Skoda pattern. On the side, we get bigger and updated alloy wheels whereas the strong character line remains intact. On the back, Skoda insignia is spread out across the boot lid.

On the inside, the changes are very subtle but the overall quality has been improved. The highlighting change is the new twin-spoke steering wheel that also does the job in the Octavia and Superb. The virtual cockpit measures 10.25 inches in size and supports various layouts. The central infotainment system has been upgraded too, along with a virtual assistant named ‘Laura’. Skoda will launch the 7-seat variants of the Kodiaq in the Indian market that will essentially be a 5+2 layout.

2021 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift - Engine and Performance

Skoda India is running on sole gasoline propulsion and the Kodiaq isn’t going to be an exception. Powering the Kodiaq will be the familiar 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that churns out 190Hp and 320 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 7-speed DSG and Skoda’s 4x4 as standard. The same engine also does duty on the Skoda Octavia, Superb, Volkswagen Tiguan and Tiguan AllSpace.

The Skoda Kodiaq facelift is slated to get launched early next year. The production, or say the assembly is expected to kick start from later this year. Skoda is expected to price the Kodiaq facelift in the region of Rs 35 lakh ex-showroom and it will most likely be available in a single Style variant. Talking about the rivals, the Kodiaq facelift will take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace.
