2022 Kia Carens

Kia India is enjoying the heydays in the Indian market with the success of the Seltos and the Sonet. Kia has now teased the 2022 Kia Carens MPV and it’s all set to get unveiled globally on December 16th. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming mid-size MPV from Kia.

2022 Kia Carens Teased

Coming to the styling of the Kia Carens, while not much has been revealed, the styling of the new Carens will be inspired by the Sonet. The teased image shows the striking LED DRL design which will be enclosed within the headlights. In addition to that, the Carens will also sport the bold Kia grille that has been the signature element for the Korean carmaker. Other design elements include dual-tone alloy wheels, side body cladding, roof rails, shark fin antenna, LED taillights and more.

On the inside, while the brand hasn’t revealed any images, some leaked images have surfaced. As per the leaked images, the Carens will come equipped with an 8.0-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, a fully-digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel with audio controls and a lot more. Kia could equip the Carens with features like ventilated seats, wireless charging, electric sunroof, cruise control, 2nd and 3rd row AC blowers and more.

Coming to the powertrain options, the 2022 Kia Carens will source its engines from the Seltos. That indicates the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel to be the preferred powertrains options for the Carens. It will also offer automatic gearbox options with both the powertrain options and both engines will offer great efficiency. The global unveil of the Carens is slated for December 16th whereas the launch could take place in early 2022. The 2022 Kia Carens will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 and Mahindra Marazzo.
