2022 Toyota Hilux Spotted

Toyota India has been procrastinating the launch of the Hilux pick-up for a long time now. As judged from the pictures, Toyota India has tweaked the pick-up with respect to Indian taste and preferences.

2022 Toyota Hilux Spotted

Toyota Hilux shares its platform and engine options with the Fortuner. It will come powered with a 2.4-litre diesel and 2.8-litre diesel engine options, with corresponding automatic gearbox options. However, four-wheel drive may remain exclusive to the 2.8-litre models only. Sharing details of the design, the new Hilux features a wide grille with chrome surrounds, thick body cladding, side steps, multi-spoke alloy wheels, LED headlights and LED taillights.

On the inside, the Hilux comes with a redesigned dashboard with new features and equipment. The layered dashboard of the Hilux is a bit different when compared to that of the Fortuner. It gets 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include front and rear parking sensors, automatic climate control, smart key with push-button start, 9-speaker JBL sound system and more.

Talking about its launch timeline, Toyota is expected to launch the new Hilux around January 2022. It will be priced in the region of Rs 25 - 35 lakh ex-showroom. Toyota Hilux will only have competition from the Isuzu D-max V-Cross that is expected to receive a generation change around late 2022.
