Honda Amaze CNG Spied

With the exorbitant fuel prices that have no intentions to come down, CNG fuel-powered vehicles are picking up traction faster than ever. More and more brands are now launching cars in the CNG space and Honda is also coming with the Amaze CNG. Honda Amaze CNG has been spied for the first time on test and it’s was the lower variant of the newly launched facelift.

Honda Amaze CNG Spied

Honda had earlier denied the launch of any CNG offerings in the Indian market. The mule spied on test was being tested with the emission testing gears and it could be a regular emission test. But with the launch of the 1.2L i-VTEC petrol and 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engines in place, this new testing mule, that too in the mid-spec trim, could be the CNG variant.

If we assume it to be the CNG variant, Honda will offer the 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine that in the petrol guise produces 89bhp and 110 Nm of torque. But like every other CNG car, the power and torque output will see a considerable drop when compared to that of the petrol spec. The engine will come mated to the 5-speed manual gearbox and we do not expect any automatic option with the Honda Amaze CNG.

Honda could offer the Amaze CNG in the lower trims whereas the top trims will be reserved for petrol and diesel offerings. Talking about the rivals, Honda Amaze CNG will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG, Hyundai Aura CNG and upcoming Tata Tigor CNG. Honda could price the CNG variants of the Amaze at 50,000-60,000 premium over the corresponding petrol variants. Honda could launch the CNG variant of the Amaze early next year.
