Skoda Kushaq is the first offering from Skoda which is underpinned by the MQB-AO IN platform. It competes with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster and Volkswagen Taigun. On the design front, the Kushaq comes with a large Skoda grille, LED headlights, LED taillights, 17-inch alloy wheels and skid plates.

On the inside, the Kushaq offers a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, wireless charging, ventilated seats, touch-based climate control, 2-spoke steering wheel, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start/stop and more.

Talking about the powertrain option, the Kushaq gets a 1.0L TSI and a 1.5L TSI petrol engine. The former puts out 110Hp and 175 Nm of torque whereas the latter produces 150Hp and 250 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox along with a 6-speed torque converter and 7-speed DSG respectively.

Talking about the variants on offer, Skoda Kushaq is offered in three variants – Active, Ambition and Style. The 1.5L TSI is only available with the top two variants. The range starts from Rs 10.98 lakh and goes to Rs 18.19 lakh ex-showroom.

Skoda Octavia – Rs 26.29 – 29.29 Lakh

Skoda made its debut in India with the Octavia. It offered multiple features and great space at an attractive price tag. Skoda is now offering the fourth-gen Octavia in the Indian market. Like every other Skoda, the Octavia only gets a petrol engine. On the design front, the Octavia get the Skoda signature grille, slick LED headlights with twin LED DRLs, LED taillights, 17-inch alloy wheels and a shark fin antenna.

On the inside, the Octavia offers multiple features like a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, digital driver’s display, shift-by-wire knob, wireless charging, electric parking brake, Canton speakers with sub-woofer and more.

Coming to the powertrain, the Octavia gets a 2.0L TSI petrol engine. It produces 190Hp and 350 Nm of torque. Unlike before, the Octavia now gets a sole 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Skoda may introduce a 1.5L TSI with a manual gearbox for the Octavia soon.

Talking about the variants on offer, the Octavia comes in two variants – Style at Rs 26.29 Lakh and L&K at Rs 29.29 Lakh ex-showroom. Skoda Octavia takes on the likes of the Hyundai Elantra. Honda Civic has now been discontinued whereas the Elantra will soon receive a generation in the Indian market.

Skoda Superb – Rs 32.85 – 35.85 Lakh

Skoda Superb is the flagship sedan in Skoda’s portfolio. Skoda launched the facelifted Superb in the Indian market last year, with a new set of features. On the exteriors, the Superb gets LED headlights with DRLs, headlamp washers, LED taillights and a long flowing side profile, with 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Superb offers a high-quality dashboard with multiple leather soft touches. In terms of features, the Superb gets touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 360-degree parking camera, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, electrically-adjustable front seats, digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof, cruise control and more.

Talking about the powertrain, the new Superb gets a 2.0L TSI petrol engine. It produces 190Hp and 350 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Skoda India should offer a diesel engine or at least a hybrid variant for buyers who are looking for a fuel-efficient luxury sedan.

Skoda Superb is offered in two variants – Sportline at Rs 32.85 lakh and L&K at Rs 35.85 lakh, The Sportline is the variant for enthusiasts as it gets multiple blacked out trims, Alcantara seats and sportier alloy wheels. Skoda Superb takes on the likes of the Toyota Camry which gets a very efficient self-charging hybrid system.

Skoda Kodiaq – Rs 34.99 – 37.49 Lakh

Skoda India has just launched the Kodiaq facelift in the Indian market. While it was earlier only offered with a diesel engine, the new facelift comes with a 2.0L TSI petrol engine. On the design front, the new Kodiaq gets a higher bonnet with a broader Skoda grille, sleeker headlights, reworked bumpers and LED taillights.

On the inside, the new Kodiaq offers better interiors with premium materials. The Sportline variant adds sports seats, three-spoke steering and dark interiors. In terms of features, the new Kodaiq offers tri-zone climate control, ventilated and heated front seats, electric seats for driver and passenger and memory function for the driver; touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, driving modes, panoramic sunroof, adaptive dampers and more.

Coming to the powertrain, the Kodiaq now gets a 2.0L TSI petrol engine. It produces 190Hp and 350 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox and all-wheel drive. The rivals of the Kodiaq are offering powerful diesel engines and it’s high time for Skoda to bring diesel back to India.

Skoda is offering the Kodiaq in three variants – Style, Sportline and L&K priced at Rs 34.99 lakh, 35.99 lakh and 37.49 lakh respectively. Skoda Kodiaq takes on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, upcoming Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace.

Skoda Slavia will be a replacement to the now-discontinued Skoda Rapid. The Slavia is based on Kushaq’s MQB-AO IN platform. This platform is highly localised and hence, we expect Skoda to price the Slavia competitively. On the design front, the Slavia appears to be a stripped-down Octavia, with an understated design and raised rear profile.

On the inside, the Slavia will come packed with features like an electric sunroof, digital instrument cluster, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, wireless charging, ventilated seats, touch-based climate control, 2-spoke steering wheel, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start/stop and more.

The Slavia will share its powertrains with the Kushaq. It will come with a 1.0L TSI and a 1.5L TSI petrol engine. The former puts out 110Hp and 175 Nm of torque whereas the latter produces 150Hp and 250 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox along with a 6-speed torque converter and 7-speed DSG respectively.

Skoda has already accepted bookings for the Slavia whereas the launch is slated for March 2022. It will be offered in three variants and will be priced competitively. The Slavia will take on the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
