Mahindra XUV700 scores 5 stars in the crash test, performed by Global NCAP. The SUV used for the crash test was the AX3 variant with steel wheels and standard safety equipment. Talking about the safety rating, the XUV700 scored 16.03 points in adult occupant safety and 41.66 points in child occupant safety. The bodyshell of the new XUV700 has also been found stable and can withstand further loadings.

The protection for the driver and passenger’s chest and head was found good whereas the protection for the driver’s legs was found adequate. Talking about the safety features, the XUV700 AX3 comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt pre-tensioners, ISOFIX anchorages and seatbelt reminders. In the side barrier test, the AX7L variant of the XUV700 was crash tested and to our surprise, the side airbags didn’t seem to deploy and that puts questions to Global NCAP.
