Mahindra XUV700 broke the news with an 11.99 lakh starting price. While the official launch with detailed pricing and variants is still away, we have some interesting variant details of the Mahindra XUV700. Mahindra XUV700 will be offered with two seating options and two powertrain options whereas automatic gearbox and AWD options will be offered with top trims only. 

Mahindra XUV700 Variant Details

Mahindra to offer the XUV700 in four trim levels – MX series, AX3, AX5 and top-spec AX7. The MX series will come with the 200Hp 2.0-litre T-GDI petrol engine and 150Hp 2.2-litre diesel engine. It will be only offered in 5 seater layout and with standard manual transmission options. Coming to the AX3 variant, it boats the Adrenox infotainment system with a more powerful 185Hp diesel engine. The AX3 will be offered with both 5- and 7-seater options, however, only with manual transmission options.

The AX5 variant is the most value for money variant of the XUV700 and it will be the best selling as well. It is offered with the sky roof along with both 5- and 7-seater options but without the convenience of automatic gearbox options. If you want to have either the automatic transmission or diesel AWD, the AX7 is the trim to go with. Mahindra will only offer the AWD option with the top-spec AX7 diesel AT variant. It is worth noting that the AX7 will only be available with the 7-seater option however, buyers could be able to opt for manual transmission options.

Talking of powertrains, the Mahindra XUV700 will be available with two engine options – 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre T-GDI petrol. The 2.2-litre diesel engine will be offered in two states of tune – 155Hp and 360 Nm and 185Hp and 480 Nm. The latter one will be offered with automatic transmission and AWD options as well. The 2.0-litre T-GDI petrol engine will be a standard fit across the range and it will produce 200Hp and 380 Nm of torque.

Mahindra XUV700 Launch Date and Expected Price

Mahindra is expected to launch the new XUV700 on October 2nd in the Indian market. Mahindra celebrates the founder’s day on October 2nd every year and the Thar was also launched on the same date last year. Mahindra launched the base MX petrol trim at Rs 11.99 lakh whereas the AX5 petrol MT is priced at Rs 14.99 lakh. Given the equipment on offer, Mahindra could price the AX7 diesel AT AWD at Rs 21.99 lakh ex-showroom.
