MG India has finally unveiled the Astor SUV with its inbuilt Ai features and Level-2 Autonomous driving aids. MG Astor will come powered with two engine options – 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol. The launch could happen later this month whereas the showroom display will kickstart from this weekend.

MG Astor Unveiled – Exterior Changes

MG Astor is the ICE counterpart of the ZS EV and it comes with certain design changes to differentiate. It gets slimmer LED headlights, chrome-starred grille, tweaked bumpers, 17-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers, LED taillights and more. MG Astor measures 4,323 mm in length, 1,809 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height. MG Astor will come packed with many features including Level 2 autonomous driving with rear collision warning as well.

MG Astor Unveiled – Interiors and Features

On the inside, MG has uplifted the experience with better quality materials and soft-touch leather, an all-digital instrument cluster, a large 10.1-inch touchscreen with 80+ connected features including digital key support, a 360-degree parking camera, heated ORVMs, six-way power-adjustable seats, panoramic sunroof, steering modes and more. MG will offer the Astor with three upholstery options –  dual-tone Sangria Red, dual-tone Iconic Ivory and Tuxedo Black. 

MG Astor is also offered with an inbuilt Ai personal assistant with a dashboard-mounted display. It can be used for voice commands and also surf searches from Wikipedia. The 10.1-inch touchscreen also offers various app support like JoiSaavan and more. It works with a built-in SIM that is provided by Jio.

MG Astor Unveiled – Engine Options

Talking about the engine options, as we stated earlier, the Astor will only come with petrol engine options. The 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine will produce 110Hp and 144 Nm of torque, mated with either a manual transmission or 8-step CVT. The 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine will produce 140Hp and 220 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed torque converter gearbox.

MG Astor Unveiled – Launch date and Price

MG Astor has only been unveiled today while the launch is expected to happen later this month. You will be able to experience the MG Astor at your nearest MG dealership from this weekend onwards. MG Astor will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. MG is expected to price the Astor aggressively and the range could start from Rs 9.99 lakh, going up to Rs 16.99 lakh ex-showroom.
