Currently, Nissan India is offering two SUVs in the Indian market – Nissan Kicks and Nissan Magnite. Let’s get to know the details about the best-seller first, that is the charismatic Magnite.

Nissan Magnite – Rs 5.71 – 10.15 Lakh

Nissan Magnite

Nissan Magnite sits in the sub-compact SUV space and boasts a proportionate design. The Magnite proved out to be truly a saviour for the brand and rocketed the sales. Talking about the design first, the Magnite looks more like a Datsun than a Nissan with a large single-frame grille at the front flanked by LED headlights. The L-shaped LED DRLs and chrome garnish is also a Datsun-touch. Overall, the Magnite looks striking and its proportionate rear profile is pleasing to the eyes.

Talking about the features, the Magnite comes packed with 8.-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree parking camera, JBL sound, wireless charging, air purifier, cruise control, rear AC vents and armrest, ESP and more. Nissan Magnite comes powered with two engine options – 1.0-litre nat-asp petrol and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. While the former is only available with a 5-speed manual, the turbo motor can be had with both a 5-speed manual and a 7-step CVT.

Now coming to the price, the Magnite is priced from Rs 5.71 lakh and goes to Rs 10.15 lakh ex-showroom. Nissan Magnite is offered in XE, XL, XV, XV Premium and dual-tone options. Both the turbo petrol and CVT options are offered from XL onwards.

Nissan Kicks – Rs 9.49 – 14.64 Lakh

Nissan Kicks

Nissan Kicks was supposed to do what the Magnite did eventually – to revive the sales in the Indian market. The Kicks was launched to take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta and but a lot has been changed ever since the BS6 norms kicked in. The Kicks was offered with the popular K9K diesel engine that was later replaced by the 1.3-litre turbo petrol motor. In terms of design, the Kicks looks striking with a quirky rear profile but the design does look a bit dated.

Coming to the interiors, the Kicks again shows its age but the tech on offer is impressive. Features include a 360-degree parking camera, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, semi-digital instrument cluster, four airbags, leather-wrapped dashboard and more. In terms of powertrain options, the Kicks is currently offered with 1.5-litre nat-asp petrol and a fire-breathing 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The latter can also be specced with a CVT gearbox along with a stick shift.

Coming to the pricing, the Kicks range starts from Rs 9.49 lakh and goes to Rs 14.64 lakh ex-showroom. Nissan Kicks is offered in XL, XV, XV Pre and XV Pre Optional. Only the XV range is offered with the turbo petrol and CVT combo. Nissan Kicks is the most powerful SUV in the segment and takes on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
