Skoda Kushaq AT to Offer 6 Airbags and TPMS

Skoda Kushaq is a very sensibly packed compact SUV but the lack of side airbags in the AT trims worked out as the fly in the ointment. As per Skoda, offering the additional airbags was needed to keep the prices in check and enter the space competitively. However, as the customers showed interest, Skoda has now offered the top Style AT trims with six airbags and TPMS with a nominal cost of Rs 40,000. It is worth noting that added equipment will be offered with both Style 1.0 TSI AT and 1.5 TSI AT.

Skoda Kushaq Crosses 10,000 Bookings Milestone

Skoda has recently completed its 20 glorifying years in the Indian market with popular nameplates like the Octavia, Laura and Rapid. The Kushaq has received a great response from the market and has now crossed 10,000 bookings since launch. Talking about the engine options, Skoda offers the Kushaq with 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engine options with 115Hp/175 Nm and 150Hp/250 Nm respectively. Both the engines come standard with 6-speed MT whereas a 6-speed AT and 7-speed DSG have been offered respectively.

Skoda Kushaq has garnered 10,000 bookings in a quick span of time, despite not having a diesel engine. The segment leaders that are the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos both offer diesel engine options with an automatic gearbox as well. Volkswagen Group has confirmed not to launch diesel-powered vehicles in the Indian market, owing to high costs and stringent and dynamic emission norms. Skoda Kushaq shares its underpinning with the, soon to be launched, Volkswagen Taigun. The Compact SUV space is getting heat from the MG Astor as well which is also getting launched later this month.
