Tata Tigor EV Battery Specifications

Tata Nexon EV holds 70 per cent of the EV market share and has been garnering great sales. Tata aims to have an even better response with the Tigor EV. Even though the Tigor EV uses a smaller 26 kWh battery pack, as opposed to Nexon’s 30.2 kWh pack, it will deliver a 300+ km range on a single charge. Tata has made it possible by reducing the power and torque output from the motor, which is capped at 75PS and 170 Nm. Don’t judge the performance by its numbers as the Tigor EV is capable of doing nought to 60 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.

Tata Tigor EV Design and Features

Tata Tigor EV boasts some subtle design changes both on the outside and inside. Talking about the exterior changes first, it gets a new enclosed gloss black grille with an electric blue borderline at the front. On the side, we get to see 15-inch alloy wheels with blue inserts and EV badging on the fenders. On the inside, Tata Tigor EV comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, push-button start/stop to name a few.

Tata Tigor EV Charging, Safety and Warranty

Tata Tigor EV supports the normal wall box and fast charging support. It can be charged from 0-80 per cent in just 60 minutes with the use of a fast charger. Normal home charging would take around 8.5 hours for a 0-80 per cent charge. Talking about safety, the Tigor EV is offered with dual airbags, ABS, EBD, hill start and descent assist and cornering stability control. Tata offers up to 8 years or 1,60,000 km warranty for the battery that is also certified with IP 67 standards.

Tata Tigor EV Launch Date and Expected Price

Tata Tigor EV will sit below the Nexon EV that currently retails from Rs 13.99 lakh to 16.85 lakh ex-showroom. Tata Tigor being an affordable vehicle will be priced considerably lower, we expect the starting price to be under 10 lakh whereas the fully-kitted variant could fetch up to 11.5 lakh ex-showroom. Tata will announce the prices of the Tigor EV on August 31st and bookings are already open.
