Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG

Maruti Suzuki is the most popular brand in the Indian market, even in the CNG segment. The Dzire has been a popular car in the cab aggregator space and the new CNG model is incoming. It will be powered by the same 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine that will produce 70Hp and 95 Nm of torque with CNG. The petrol spec engine, on the other hand, churns out 90Hp and 113 Nm of torque.

The Dzire CNG will only come with a 5-speed manual transmission with the VXI variant. Maruti Suzuki is expected to charge around 60,000 to 80,000 premium over the corresponding petrol variants of the Dzire. The launch could happen later this year along with the rest of the CNG range.

Maruti Suzuki Swift is the best-selling hatchback in its segment and it has gained an updated engine with the new facelift. The new Dualjet engine will soon receive the CNG propulsion and will make its way to the market later this year. It will be powered by the same 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine that will produce 70Hp and 95 Nm of torque with CNG.

The Swift CNG could be the most fuel-efficient vehicle in its class as it will take on the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the upcoming Tata Tiago CNG. Maruti Suzuki is expected to charge around 60,000 to 80,000 premium over the corresponding petrol variants.

Tata Tiago CNG

Tata Tiago CNG

Tata Tiago is the best selling Tata model in the Indian market and is soon to get the CNG variants. Powering the Tiago CNG will be the same 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated Revotron petrol engine. The power and torque outputs are yet to be announced. Tata Tiago CNG has been spied multiple times on the Indian roads. It could produce 65-70Hp with CNG with a torque output of close to 100 Nm. The Tiago CNG will be priced lower than the Swift and Grand-i10 Nios CNG and the same powertrain will also be launched with the Tigor CNG.

Tata Nexon CNG

Tata Nexon is one of the best selling sub-compact SUVs in the Indian market. It is available with both petrol and diesel engine options and now, it is about to receive the CNG powertrain as well. Tata Nexon CNG could be the first CNG car in India with a turbo petrol engine. CNG and turbocharging isn’t a match made in heaven as there are several complications.

It will be interesting to see how Tata calibrates the powertrain of the Nexon CNG to provide smooth and linear power delivery. Tata is yet to reveal the power and torque figures. The launch of the Nexon CNG could happen later this year or early next year. It will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza CNG.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza CNG

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is the best-selling subcompact SUV in the Indian market and it constantly outsells the Nexon. It is also one of the best upcoming CNG cars in India 2021 and will be very fuel-efficient for daily commuters. Powering the Vitara Breeza CNG will be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that will produce 91Hp and 122 Nm of torque. While the petrol engine produces more power and also offers an option of 4-speed AT, the CNG variants will only come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza CNG will be priced around 80,000 more than the corresponding petrol variants and will take on the likes of the Nexon CNG.

Toyota Innova Crysta CNG

Toyota has been testing the Innova Crysta CNG for a long time now and its launch keeps on getting delayed. Toyota is now expected to launch the Innova Crysta CNG near the festive season or later this year at best. It will come powered with a 2.7-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with CNG compatibility. It will retain its seven-seat layout and offer fantastic efficiency. The Innova Crysta CNG is one of the upcoming CNG 7 seater cars in India 2021. Toyota Innova Crysta CNG wouldn’t have any rivals in its space and will enjoy the first-mover advantage.
