Is it sufficient to replace only the driver’s side wiper?
It is recommended to replace the driver’s side and passenger’s side wipers at the same time for improved vision and increased safety. Do not forget to replace rear window wipers as well.

Some manufacturers offer a winter blade. However if the rubber boot over the blade should tear, the water can collect inside and freeze, causing the blade to become ineffective.
Do I need to clean my windshield before installing new wipers?
Windshield contamination is a common cause for poor wiper performance even if the wipers are still in good shape. Some kinds of contamination, such as tree sap, can destroy the wiping element in a short time. We recommend cleaning the windshield regularly with car wash soap as regular dish soap or hand soap can be corrosive to car paint.

How often should wipers be changed and what are signs they are going bad?
Most manufacturers recommend inspecting your wiper blades every six months for wear. Besides wear from exposure to the elements, the rubber component in a wiper blade deteriorates due to road debris, chemicals, climate and ozone exposure. Failures can be identified by excessive noise, streaking and chattering. If the rubber has started to tear apart from the blade it should be replaced immediately.
