2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Spied

Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the best selling premium hatchback in India ever since it got launched. To date, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 9,00,000 units of the Baleno with just one mid-cycle facelift update. For the year 2022, the Japanese carmaker is readying the Baleno facelift that is set to come with updated interiors, new steering and new features.

2022 Maruti Baleno Facelift – Exteriors

As per the spied images, the new Baleno Facelift will get updated headlights and taillights, a new set of alloy wheels and a tweaked bumper and grille design. The taillights will be a lot sleeker and sport a different design. The Baleno Facelift won’t sport any sheet metal changes and its flowing silhouette will be intact.

2022 Maruti Baleno Facelift – Interiors

The changes will be a lot more apparent on the inside. Talking about the changes, we expect a new steering wheel carried over from the Swift, a larger touchscreen with Wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, new instrument cluster among others. The visual layout will be given a makeover too, including a new design for the AC vents and controls. Maruti Suzuki Baleno has always been a spacious hatchback but we also expect new fabric for the seats and the inclusion of a rear armrest.

2022 Maruti Baleno Facelift – Features

In a nutshell, the Baleno is a decently-equipped hatchback with an ample amount of features. However, the competition has gone far ahead in terms of features and other creature comforts. The Baleno currently lacks a rear armrest, rear AC vents, wireless charging, connected car tech, traction control, VSM and other new-age feature which its competition offers. We expect Maruti to fill the empty spaces with the 2022 Baleno Facelift.

2022 Maruti Baleno Facelift – Price and Launch Date

As we stated earlier, the Baleno facelift won’t come with any mechanical changes. Both the 83PS 1.2-litre petrol and 90PS 1.2-litre petrol hybrid engines will be carried over as is. The non-hybrid petrol engine can also be specced with a 7-speed CVT gearbox. With the inclusion of new features, Maruti Suzuki could charge a premium of Rs 60,000 – 80,000 over the current Baleno. Although there is no official timeline, Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the Baleno Facelift in early 2022.
