The changes will be a lot more apparent on the inside. Talking about the changes, we expect a new steering wheel carried over from the Swift, a larger touchscreen with Wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, new instrument cluster among others. The visual layout will be given a makeover too, including a new design for the AC vents and controls. Maruti Suzuki Baleno has always been a spacious hatchback but we also expect new fabric for the seats and the inclusion of a rear armrest.

In a nutshell, the Baleno is a decently-equipped hatchback with an ample amount of features. However, the competition has gone far ahead in terms of features and other creature comforts. The Baleno currently lacks a rear armrest, rear AC vents, wireless charging, connected car tech, traction control, VSM and other new-age feature which its competition offers. We expect Maruti to fill the empty spaces with the 2022 Baleno Facelift.

As we stated earlier, the Baleno facelift won’t come with any mechanical changes. Both the 83PS 1.2-litre petrol and 90PS 1.2-litre petrol hybrid engines will be carried over as is. The non-hybrid petrol engine can also be specced with a 7-speed CVT gearbox. With the inclusion of new features, Maruti Suzuki could charge a premium of Rs 60,000 - 80,000 over the current Baleno. Although there is no official timeline, Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the Baleno Facelift in early 2022.
